Every piece of pottery Scott VanGaasbeck makes reflects a way of life. On a 65 acre homestead in Brooktondale, NY, Scott and his wife Laura strive to live a life of voluntary simplicity and ecological stewardship. Choosing to live without electricity brings him more intimately into his work, whether gardening or making pots. This intimacy helps him imprint his pots with the lush quietude of his surroundings, energized by the firing.
Scott hopes this energy will help bring you closer to the simple enjoyment of sipping tea from a cup, picking wildflowers for a vase, or sharing a meal with loved ones.
